Il sera taillé à 70% dans une roche très friable et compte tenu du terrain accidenté on dénombrera beaucoup de morts parmi les ouvriers ( 22 sont relevés ; le Comité des fortification ayant refusé d'indemniser les veuves car leurs maris étaient morts suite à des fautes professionnelles).
