Built at the beginning of the XX° century to open up the high Catalan mountains, the railroad line of the yellow train is the symbol of the territories of mountain of Oriental Pyrenees, in the course of classification in the World heritage of UNESCO.
The line of the yellow train is the outcome of works titanesques begun in 1903 on the initiative of Emmanuel Brousse and Jules Lax.
The yellow train constitutes a model of sustainable development, it is fed by a hydroelectric complex settled throughout Tet and the major component of which is the dam of Bouillouses (in 2100 m of height).
The journey by train looks like a panoramic film which allows to visit the territory of the Regional Natural reserve of Catalan Pyrenees.
